The story goes that there once was a king and a queen who ruled over a kingdom. The queen was very selfish and arrogant, and bragged to a sea nymph that she was superior in beauty. Poseidon, angered by her vanity, sent a sea monster to terrorize her kingdom. The only way to stop her kingdom's terrible fate was to sacrifice her only daughter, Andromeda, to the monster. Although her parents refused, Andromeda sacrificed herself to save her people. She was chained to a rock to wait for her imminent death. Just as the monster was about to devour her, Perseus flew by on Pegasus- he took one look at her and fell in love. He slew the sea monster, rescued her, and they lived happily ever after.
What I wouldn't give for my life to be that simple.
My life is far from the drama Andromeda had to go through (my parents are pretty chill and I don't foresee being threatened by a sea-monster any time soon...) But its still enough that sometimes I have to get things off my chest.
And hey, doesn't everybody? Sometimes, you find comfort in reading about someone who feels the same as you do. Or has the same questions. And there is a small concept called schadenfreude - look it up- which, hey, is fine by me.
In short, I'm not writing this for you. I'm writing this for me. And if somehow Andromeda finds her way into your heart like she did for me, you're more than welcome to stay. I'm sorry if the first few posts are awful, I'm new at this!
Right now its 4:35 in the morning, so I'm going to bed, but tomorrow will be my real post.
